Dr. Oreoluwa Sofekun is an accomplished investment and business professional with over 25 years of experience spanning venture capital, fund management, investment banking, management consulting and corporate governance. She possesses extensive expertise in finance, business strategy, operational and financial risk management, and has built a reputation for supporting sustainable business growth and sound corporate governance.
Dr. Sofekun holds a First Class degree in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, a Master's degree and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University, USA, and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration and a Registered Professional of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
She commenced her career with Flopetrol Schlumberger and subsequently held various technical, consulting and leadership roles with DuPont, Albemarle Corporation, Booz Allen Hamilton and Diamond Management & Technology Consultants in the United States. Upon her return to Nigeria, she served as the pioneer Chief Operating Officer of CardinalStone Partners, Managing Director of Investment One Funds Management Limited, and pioneer Managing Director of Investment One Vencap Limited.
In 2019, she founded Foothold Advisors Limited, an advisory and investment consulting firm, and remains actively involved in venture capital, investment advisory and board governance. She is a former President of the Fund Managers Association of Nigeria (FMAN) and has served on several committees of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Central Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Finance.
Dr. Sofekun joined the Board of RMB Nigeria Asset Management Limited as an Independent Non-Executive Director in 2026.
