Godfrey is the Head of Compliance at RMB Nigerial Asset Management Ltd, entrusted with overseeing the organisation’s regulatory and compliance function. He has over 18 years’ extensive professional experience spanning risk management and operations across various sectors including Banking, Pension, Insurance and Capital Markets.
Prior to joining RMB Nigeria Asset Management Ltd in 2022, Godfrey held a senior compliance and regulatory specialist role at Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Limited (member of the Standard Bank Group) in Nigeria, where he demonstrated a steadfast commitment to managing regulatory risks with diligence, enhancing the risk environment to bolster investor confidence. His strategic insights and meticulous approach was instrumental in navigating the complex regulatory landscape and ensuring compliance with evolving industry standards.
At RMB Godfrey manages various projects and external stakeholders to advance business objectives effectively. His profound understanding of the regulatory landscape informs strategic actions to fortify control environments and ensure compliance. As a champion of risk management and ethics, Godfrey proactively identifies and addresses potential risks while promoting a culture of integrity.
Godfrey holds a bachelor’s degree in Banking and a Master’s in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos. He is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
Outside of work, Godfrey likes to spend time with his family playing games, and on weekends he organises a convoy of bicycles with his four kids for a 10km ride around town.
